2020 MEETING CALENDAR
March meeting
Our next membership meeting is March 13, 2021 at St Hilary’s Episcopal Church in Parish Hall.
Our presenter, Patricia Turner, will be joining us via Zoom.
She will present “Visual Essays”, a presentation that explores Social Commentary Art, writing effective artist and piece statements, and why entering “all media” art exhibits is so important to me (and why you may want to try it, too!).
We will provide instructions for those choosing to join via Zoom as we get closer to our meeting date.
12:30 – 1:00 Social Time
1:00 Program and Show & Tell
3:00 Adjourn
Our Show & Tell will include the reveal of our first 2021 challenge “Past, Present, Future”. If you didn’t participate in the challenge, feel free to show other work. The more the merrier!!
Past, Present, Future
We all change throughout our lives; That is how we grow and evolve. For this challenge, create a piece showing how your subject has changed over the years. The subject can be a person, a technique, a place or anything else that brings you joy.

Bobbi Baugh presents: Asking the right questions: What to do BEFORE starting the quilt
This presentation will focus on concept development. Refining ideas. Digging deeper. Attendees will be
encouraged to take a starting idea for a quilt and think about it in a more meaningful way. Next comes an
examination of using composition as a way to enhance meaning. Presentation will involve looking at and analyzing artwork, both Bobbi’s work and the work of other artists. Of course, when textile artists get together there is always an interest in technique and how-to. Bobbi will answer any questions about her own methods and procedures.
