Faith’s Story

I started quilting when I was sixteen. I didn’t know there were quilt patterns available, so my first quilt was a scrappy block alternating with white blocks. I appliquéd an eight-pointed star on half the blocks. When I joined a traditional guild, I became friends with a woman who wanted to start a small group to make innovative quilts. We formed an informal group of about eight quilters who met monthly to try new techniques or styles. We called ourselves the Innovative Quilters Unlimited. When Carol Holsopple moved to town and heard of us, she joined and talked about forming an art quilt group in the fashion of the Front Range Modern Quilt Guild. The rest is Art Quilters Unlimited history! I have served in several capacities as Secretary, Workshop Chair, and President.
