LACE TECHNIQUES by Sara Blythe

Look past the traditional use of lace as an ornamental element in clothing and decor and you’ll see that lace offers an interesting study of positive and negative spaces. Learn how to use lace designs as stencils, printing blocks, or rubbing plates and how to color it without resorting to conventional dyes. Discover ways to incorporate these lace design elements into your fiber art.

RUST DYEING by Donna Faivre-Roberts

Donna will share techniques and show samples to illustrate everything she has learned about the rust dyeing process.

FEBRUARY 14, 2026

STAINED GLASS APPLIQUE by Bonnie Langenfeld

Bonnie shares a method for outlining any shape an artist wants to incorporate as a surface design. It’s done without stitching and is particularly good for a stained glass look. Members will follow along, making their own sample, as Bonnie demos the technique.

What to bring:

  • Three 5 x 8-inch pieces of fabric. Two of the fabrics should contrast with each other. The third piece should be black.

  • Sharp, small scissors

  • Pencil or pen

Bonnie will supply the final ingredient!

Sit back and be inspired by an exquisite trunk show of jackets and reversible vests. Sue will describe the different techniques and approaches she used to create her wardrobe of wearable art. Take away ideas, inspiration, and know-how for your own creations.

FROM FIN TO FABRIC: GYOTAKU MEETS ART QUILTING by Dianne Pedersen

Gyotaku is an ancient fish rubbing technique. Diane will show us how it can be used to create lovely fish-themed artwork. Make a sample piece following Diane’s instructions.

FUN WITH BEADS by Elaine Sinden

Elaine is proficient in adding beads to almost anything. She will show us some interesting techniques and samples of her work.

MINIATURE FACE BROOCHES by Mary Vellia

Mary will demonstrate her process for creating adorable tiny face brooches.

SEPTEMBER 12, 2026

3D ELEMENTS by Gail Klepper

Gail will demonstrate how she uses embellishments to enhance her art quilts. Her 3D repertoire includes embroidery, rouching, fabric flowers, beading, and macrame. You’ll receive a practice kit to start making your own embellishments. A supply list will be provided prior to the program.
